Founded in 2010, Dandelion Chocolate is a San Francisco-based bean-to-bar chocolate maker that celebrates the unique flavors of cacao from around the world. Using just two ingredients—cocoa beans and sugar—they create single-origin chocolate that highlights the distinctive flavors of each harvest.

Where My Love of Craft Chocolate Began

My love of craft chocolate began in 2013 at Dandelion Chocolate's Valencia Street shop in San Francisco. Before that visit, I had no idea what craft chocolate was, what bean-to-bar chocolate meant, or how much the flavors of chocolate could vary from one bar to another.

I quickly fell in love with Dandelion. Their Madagascar bar became my all-time favorite, a distinction it still holds more than a decade later.

Over the years, my love of Dandelion and craft chocolate continued to grow. I visited their New York City pop-up shop, explored their new products, and even joined a Dandelion experience tour, where I had the opportunity to visit cacao plantations and farms, tour chocolate factories, and taste plenty of delicious chocolate along the way.

Each experience deepened my appreciation for the people, places, and processes behind every chocolate bar. And my chocolate adventures aren't over! I can't wait to return to Dandelion to try one of their chocolate-making classes at the factory.

What started with a single visit to Dandelion eventually inspired me to create Cacao Match, where I share my discoveries and help others find chocolate they love.
